Brett focuses on income tax planning including accounting methods, partnerships, S Corporations, mergers & acquisitions, and other income tax issues such as the taxation of fringe benefits, the tax treatment of legal judgments and settlements, and loss deductions due to worthlessness and abandonment. Before going to law school, Brett spent three years doing tax work as a CPA with a Big 4 accounting firm. Brett has also worked as a tax director for a publicly-held media company and has extensive experience with media and entertainment industry tax issues including the financial accounting for income taxes (ASC 740).
